HISTORY

Greater Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church was established in the early 90’s under the spiritual leadership of Pastor Frank Aaron Rollins.  During this time the church did not have a permanent location.  This was when a few members of the community opened their doors to the congregation of Greater Mt. Zion. Mr. E along with his wife of the Cotton Gin Restaurant we’re gracious enough to allow members to congregate at his facility for Sunday services.  During the weekly operating hours Pastor Blouin of Bible Fellowship permitted the church to use his facility for bible study, baptisms, and other formal services.  This sharing of facilities continued for a few months until Pastor Rollins along with his father in the ministry, Pastor C.L. Jackson of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church successfully located the land in which Greater Mt. Zion sits on today. This land was known as a dog pound which was later transformed into a glorious place of worship.

VALUES

At Greater Mt. Zion MBC, we are guided by the values of love, compassion, and service to others.
